💖 You're My Favorite Song - A Love Letter in Melody

Updated: Jul 5, 2025

Have you ever loved someone and wanted them to know it?

I wanted to write a love song for the woman I love—

Something to touch her heart and let her know how much she means to me.

Something that would let her know how important she is, and how deeply she is loved.

I happened to notice one of my favorite books nearby and thought to myself: That’s it.

When you love someone deeply, they’re like your favorite book.

You read it over and over.

Each time it gets better.

More deep. More profound.

You find new beauty, more meaning.

You see wonderful things you never noticed before. It just gets better and better.

Then I thought of favorite songs.

They are the same.

You play them over and over, listening and singing again and again.

They get stuck in your head.

On repeat all day long from when you wake up until you lie down in bed.

I wanted to create a love song that gets stuck in your head.

One that you can’t help singing because it feels so good.

And so the title: You’re My Favorite Song.

Then I searched for ideas that felt like what loving her means to me...

First came physical touch, glances, playfulness, romance—sparks and fire.

The joyful feeling of being lifted up as we fall in love.

Then came the deeper, profound more powerful love - like the pull of the ocean tide—drawing me closer to her.

Then the beauty and grace of the morning light.

And ultimately, the recognition that she’s a part of me.

Like the heartbeat in my chest.

She’s irreplaceable.

I searched for her, like a lost love. And I found her.

She’s like home. The place I belong. And I’ll always love her.

And so out of those thoughts and feelings came this song.

I made two versions: One Country—because she loves country music, and so do I. It’s soulful and grounded. One Pop—because who doesn’t love the uplifting joy of a great pop song?

💌 Share the Love

I hope both versions touched your heart. I hope they move you.

And I hope they make you think of someone you love deeply—someone who makes your world feel full.

If you feel this way about someone, send them this song.

Let it speak for your heart.

Let them know how much they mean to you—and how deeply they are loved.

And if you haven’t found that person yet…

May this song give you hope.

Hope that a love like this does exist.

That it’s out there.

That someone is looking for you, just as you are looking for them.

Play this song for yourself.

Or send it to someone who's still searching, as a reminder of what love can feel like…
