Sometimes, the hardest words are the ones we mean the most:
“I’m sorry.”
Not the hollow kind.
Not a quick fix.
But a real apology—from the heart, with no defense, no excuse. Just truth.
This song was born from that place.
From knowing we’ve caused pain.
From finally seeing what we failed to see.
From the aching wish to take it all back, to make it right—even if we can’t.
It began as a longer poem - I'm Sorry. An Apology From the Heart. Forgiveness: The Gift We Can Choose to Give Before it is Asked of us And then I was moved to make it into a song to captures the heart and soul of that poem.
And a Spanish version here: “Lo Siento”
🤝 A Song for the One Who Needs to Hear It
You can send this song to someone you love,
Someone you hurt,
Someone who deserves to know that you understand now.
Let it be the beginning of a healing conversation.
Or the olive branch when you don’t know how else to reach them.
Even if they don’t respond, the act of meaning it matters.
💬 A Song for the Apology You Never Received
If you're holding pain from someone who never said the words…
If you’ve been waiting for a moment that may never come—
This song is for you, too.
Let the lyrics speak what they never said.
Let it touch the tender place in you that still needs acknowledgment.
Let it offer comfort and closure,
So you can choose peace—even if they never do.
📝 Lyrics - I'm Sorry
I come to you with a heart that is open,
And a soul that seeks to mend what I have broken.
I see the hurt—I know it’s true.
I know it now… I had no clue.
I’m sorry, I’m sorry.
So sorry, so sorry.
I’d take your pain—
I know I should.
I’d take it back,
I’d make it good.
I’d take your place,
I wish I would.
I’d heal your heart,
If I only could.
I failed to see you.
Fear closed my eyes.
Now I see the light—
Won’t hide behind the lies.
I’m sorry, I’m sorry.
So sorry, so sorry.
I’d take your pain—
I know I should.
I’d take it back,
I’d make it good.
I’d take your place,
I wish I would.
I’d heal your heart,
If I only could.
I’m sorry. Deeply sorry.
🎧 Two Versions, One Heart
There are two versions of this song. Both carry the same message—from different emotional places.
The first above is more intense, raw, and filled with the weight of deep regret.
This one is soft, vulnerable, quiet.
Choose the one that speaks to you… or listen to both.
💌 Share the Healing
If this song moved you—
Send this page to someone you love who needs to hear it.
Send this page to someone you’ve hurt to begin the healing.
Or even to someone you’re ready to forgive.
Hearing a heartfelt apology—or offering one—can open the heart.
Sometimes, a song says what words alone cannot.
And when it does, it can gently unlock the chains of the past…
so we can let go, heal, and finally be free.
